Does Evolution Require More Faith than Creation?

Evolutionists Don’t Want to Admit that Their Belief Requires Faith

It’s important to remember that Creationists and evolutionists, Christians and non-Christians all have the same evidence—the same facts. One group believes in a Creator, the other denies His existence. It’s the foundational and presuppositional beliefs undergirding these two polar-opposite worldviews that lead us down the path to our final interpretations.

Evolution and creation are emotionally charged topics, but suffice it to say, the stakes are extremely high for evolutionists.  The very idea of a Creator is frightening to them because it introduces an obvious question and decision that must be made. “Will I submit to this Creator?”  It’s much easier to suppress the truth and deny Him than to consider the consequences of being wrong. Evolutionists’ desperately tight grip on this hopeless, godless theory should serve as a reminder for Christians to always be ready to give a defense and speak the truth in love as we present the strong case for Creation and share the Gospel with a lost world.

Evolution Can’t Explain Emotion

It is also reasonable and rational to assume that intangible concepts such as emotion, beauty, creativity, order, love, wisdom, time, law, and justice have a divine origin.  We may take these things for granted in our daily routines of human experience, but just take a moment to stop and think how one could explain the “evolution” of these very personal attributes in the absence of an intimate and purposeful Creator.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse…” Romans 1:18-20

Can One Prove the Existence of a Creator?

At the very core of every person’s soul is the knowledge that God exists (Romans 1:20), but scientifically speaking, no man can empirically prove or disprove that there is a Creator. However, it stands to reason, if there is a Creator, we should expect to see evidence that there is undeniable intelligence behind every facet of the universe… and we absolutely do!  Let’s take a closer look at just two examples from the microscopic to the celestial – the tiny flagellum and our vast solar system.

The Flagellum

Cells are the building blocks of life and invisible to the human eye. Yet, one even smaller component (within the cell), the flagellum, is “said to be so irreducibly complex that all the parts of [it] must have been present from the start in order to function at all.” The purpose of the flagellum is locomotion. Think of it as an outboard motor on the back of a boat, but infinitely more complex. There is not one man-made motor in existence that is as fast, efficient, and small as flagellar motors in bacteria. As we observe the amazing structural complexity and finely tuned coordination of the bacterial flagellum, it seems unimaginable that anyone would attempt to explain the existence of this tiny complex machine apart from a Divine Master Engineer. [i]

Our Solar System

Did you know that the location of our solar system within the galaxy is absolutely perfect? We are protected from lethal levels of radiation and far enough from the core that we can discern the type of galaxy in which we live. And yet we are close enough to nearby stars that we can see them with the naked eye and study them closely through the use of telescopic equipment. Furthermore, we are positioned just far enough away from any outside stars that they don’t pose any danger to life or prevent scientific study of the universe beyond. And to bring it home, the unique position, location and features of the Earth within our galaxy offer compelling evidence of a very intentional Creator who carefully holds and nurtures this privileged planet in the palm of His mighty hands.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear…” 1 Peter 3:15
