My children were excited to listen to more Jonathan Park and found the stories both engaging and challenging, the stories presented good opportunities for discussion on character and insight into our own weaknesses
This Jonathan Park album is so awesome! We love hearing the older version of Jonathan and Jessie. We think it's so funny when Jessie screams, especially at the beginning when Jonathan says that she's got the loudest scream ever! Can't wait to listen to the Call of the Exodus, to find out what happens next!
I didn't get into Jonathan Park until about 6 years ago, right when the 7th series came out. I had never heard of JP before but instantly fell in love. My parents bought me the whole collection and I eagerly listened to them over and over. I was so excited when series 8,9 and 10 came out that bought them as well. I was sorry to hear that JP was having difficulties and thought it was going to be the end for them. But I was thrilled when I heard they were coming out with the New Adventures. I asked for them for Christmas this year. My mother looked at getting them for me but didn't because of the reviews. I did however still receive them as a gift. I listened to them and while they are still good, they aren't as good as the original adventures. I didn't appreciate how Jessie changed and seems to be less mature. I also wish the rest of the family was included in the adventures. I liked hearing how they would all work together at home and all over the world to uncover the scientific evidence that supports the Bible. All in all I will still continue buying Jonathan Park, but I will cherish the Original Adventures.
We have loved Jonathan Park since the very beginning and listened as a family for many years. It was so encouraging and we learned a great deal in every episode. During the transition, we supported the campaign to keep JP going, but we’re hesitant to buy the new albums because of reviews and the clips we listened to. I wish we had not made the investment. There were so many elements that were not resolved or even acknowledged throughout the entire drama. The kids never sought wisdom from their parents or other adults when they were aware of dangerous things going on. Our children should always know that if an adult tells them no one will believe them, it is vital for them to come to tell us and not ignore it or try to handle it on their own! It was difficult to tell Jonathan and Isaac apart and they get in a violent fight in one episode. It is supposed to be an “adventure” drama, but my younger children especially don’t need to listen to young adults arguing and beating each other up. Jessie seems foolish and childish throughout. There seem to be no consequences to any action by any character. Most other struggles have been addressed by other reviewers and don’t bear repeating here. We are so disappointed and won’t continue go purchase any more of this formerly wonderful audio drama. Thankful for the early days - just wished it had continued...
We loved Jonathan Park! It was so suspenseful and our family loved it.
