Created During Creation Week
Genesis tells us when animals were created:
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:20-25)
Questions
- Were all the animals made on the same day?
- Look at the order of creation in Genesis One. What happened before He created the animals? Why?
- How does the order of Creation week differ from the theory of evolution?
- Based on Genesis 1:20-25, what categories of animals can you name?
- Why does God call His creation good? How does this statement oppose those who believe that God was using millions of years of evolution and survival of the fittest to create?
After Their Kind
God told the animals to multiply after their kind:
- Read through Genesis 1:20-25 again. How many times do you see the word kind used?
Questions
- Why does Genesis use the word kind so many times?
- What does the word, kind mean?
- How is the word kind different from the evolutionary concept of species?
Scientific Observations
- Not only did God create kinds of animals, but He also programmed their genetic information to be able to vary and adapt.
- Scientists have learned that the ability to vary has very strict boundaries. While there are a huge variety of dogs, they can never become anything but a dog. We see similar boundaries in all animals.
- While variation and adaptation are observed in science all the time, evolution has never been observed.
- Creation scientists are overwhelmed by the incredible design in which God demonstrates through animals ability to adapt to their environment!
The Creativity of Our God
I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me. (Jeremiah 27:5)
For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. (Psalm 50:10-12)
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)
Questions
- How does the creation of all the animals show Gods great power?
- How does it show His great creativity?
- Why did God make the animals? How many reasons can you list?
- How does Gods creation of the animals make Him worthy to receive glory?
- What does it mean in Revelation 4:11 that for thy pleasure they were created?
