In “Jonathan Park and the Explorer’s Society”, the Creation Response Team investigates the forces of erosion at work at Niagara Falls. Now it’s your turn to learn about the earth-shaping power of water.
To explore a nearby site that displays the force of water.
- Set a date with your family to investigate a local stream, river, lake, ocean, irrigation channel, or any location that has been affected by the forces of water.
- Get familiar with the different types of water erosion, and how to recognize them. To get familiar with the force of water, click here.
- Printout pictures from the internet showing pictures of the different types of erosion. Links to some pictures can be found click here.
- Pack a picnic lunch.
- Take a fieldtrip to the site you’ve chosen (local stream, river, lake, ocean, irrigation channel).
- As you travel in the car, listen to Jonathan Park and the Explorer’s Society.
- Once you are there, explore the site as a family. Look for the evidence of how the landscape has been shaped by the forces of water. Use the pictures you’ve printed out to identify which type of water erosion is responsible for what you see in front of you.
