In Jonathan Park and the Temple of the Moon, the Park and Brenan families travel to the ancient city of Ur to look for clues about the origin of languages. Now your family can journey to a distant land that speaks a different language without leaving your home!
To learn about a country that speaks a language different from your own.
- There is no time limit on this adventure - you may spend as much or little as you would like.
- Take time ahead of time to find out the email address of a missionary sponsored by your Church. If your Church doesnt support a missionary, ask family, friends, or another Church in which you trust.
- Spend a little time prior to meeting with your family to research the area in which your missionary lives. You may choose to print out information from the internet, checkout library books, or even acquire maps.
- Depending on how much time you want to invest, put together a simple presentation on the country, and the language of your missionary.
- Listen to Jonathan Park and the Temple of the Moon – Part I & II *.
- Spend time in a family devotional as you learn about languages and the Tower of Babel.
- Using your research, learn together about the country, language, and mission of your missionary.
- As a family, send your missionary an encouraging email. Let them know that you are praying for them, and how you can continue to pray for them specifically. Also, ask them what it has been like learning a new language, or to minister to people who speak another language. Find out more about their personal experience in their country.
- Continue to pray and encourage them as you stay in contact.
* You can purchase the CDs or cassettes from the Jonathan Park Web store. If you own the study guide, you may also spend time learning the scientific discoveries that support this adventure. Those study guides can also be downloaded free.
